Bond Measure Oversight
I am a member of the Measure R and C-6 Bond oversight committee.
The oversight committee on Measure R and Measure C-6 is responsible for the following tasks:
-Alert the public to any waste or improper expenditure of school construction bond money.
-Inform the public concerning the expenditure of bond revenues.
-Ensure that bond revenues are expended only for the purposes of construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, or replacement of school facilities.
-Ensure that no funds are used for any teacher or administrative salaries or any other school operating expenses.
-We completed our work this year and found the following:
- -All the money was spent appropriately.
- -Some of the money was transferred to school maintenance. This is a permissible use of the money however something not envisioned by the tax payers.
- -Some of the money was transferred out to pay for the bond funding. The School district has fixed this and this money will be returned to the Bond Measure.
