 ENGINEERING MANAGER

I am a licensed Civil and Structural Engineer in the State of California. I work for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD). I have worked at MWD for 18 years. I have 25 years of structural engineering experience.  

At MWD, I am the Engineering Manager of the Facilities and Pipeline Team. There are 23 staff members on my team.  My main responsibilities are:

-I am the engineering manager responsible for all of the structural engineers and structural designers.

-I am the engineering manager responsible supervising and directing the civil engineers responsible for pipeline design. 

-I am responsible for the overall design of all pipeline repair and pipeline relocation projects.

-I am responsible for overall design of projects that are primarily structural in nature.

-My team works is responsible for projects such as:

                  -Design of new structures made of concrete, steel or masonry

                  -Modification of existing structures

                  -Design of new pipelines or relocations of existing pipelines

                  -Repair of existing pipelines (primarily prestressed concrete pipe)

                  -Seismic Retrofit of Existing Structures

-My expertise is in the design and construction of large diameter pipelines (4 feet to 12 feet in diameter). I have also designed steel and concrete structures.   

-My primary expertise is in the design and construction of large diameter pipelines (MWD pipelines are from 4 feet to 16-8″ in diameter
