Triunfo

I am uniquely qualified to serve on the Triunfo Sanitation District Board. I have the leadership skills, and knowledge to serve effectively.

Triunfo Sanitation District is responsible for:

-Sanitation Needs for Triunfo Service Area

-Oak Park Water District

-Recycled Water Treated at the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility My Experience

As an engineering manager at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern a good understanding of the issues facing Triunfo and California. I have the knowledge and understanding of the issues that this district will face. I can evaluate budgets, oversee projects, scrutinize operating costs, and eliminate waste so that Triunfo is run effectively.

Community Leadership

I was elected to the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council and serve as vice chair. In this position, I listen to the needs of our community.
I am a member of the Measure R oversight committee. In this capacity I insure the school district does not spend Bond Measure Money inappropriately.
I was a coach two seasons and was assistant coach two seasons in the Agoura Youth Basketball Association.

Issues

My top priority will be to keep water/sanitation rates low.
I will move to eliminate director fees

Triunfo currently is budgeting $50,000 for director fees. This is ridicules and needs to be changed. MWD’s Board, Las Virgenes’ Board and Calleguas Board all serve for free and their Districts are much bigger.

I will seek better financial arrangements with our water and sanitation suppliers.

Currently Triunfo sells recycled water to Calleguas Municipal Water District and then repurchases it before it can deliver it to its customers. Calleguas adds on a 30% surcharge for this privilege. This must be changed

On the Sanitation side Las Virgenes needs to be challenged to reduce its cost of treatment.
